Thank you for your interest to be a part of the Act for Displaced family. We are a knowledge-driven nonprofit community of an international group of humanitarian practitioners, academicians, researchers, students, and individuals interested in advocating for the rights of displaced individuals around the world. We are dedicated to the issues relating to displacement, refugees, forced migration, and human rights.

Associate Editor

  • Expertise and experience in the specialist field related to displacement, human rights, protection, refugee & forced migration
  • Publication record of a number of articles and /or books
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Critical thinking ability
  • Ability to write with clarity
  • A keen eye for details
  • Proficient in using technology
  • Review the relevant and publishable submissions received from all across the world
  • Attract new and established authors and article submissions 
  • Write a minimum of two articles in a month 
  • Attend monthly team meetings
  • Create new ideas and strategies for the development of the platform
  • Opportunity to interact with humanitarian practitioners, academicians, researchers, and students and growing your network
  • Writing and publishing own articles for a huge community 
  • Developing excellent writing skills
  • Learning through reading articles from across the world
  • Recommendations whenever needed (after working for at least 6 months)

Humanitarian Researcher & Writer

  • Must have content writing experience
  • Must have ideas about displacement, refugees, and human rights
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to write with clarity
  • A keen eye for details
  • You will need to submit 2 articles per month that include selecting research topics and writing on humanitarian related issues ranging from 600-3000 words (each)
  • Writings must be plagiarism free (up to 10% allowed case by case basis)
  • Maintain regular communication with the Team Lead and submit your work within deadline
  • You will comply with the policies, rules, and regulations of the Act for Displaced’s business practices and procedures
  • Opportunity to publish and showcase your work to a global audience
  • Opportunity to review your articles by scholars and experts at Act for Displaced
  • Opportunity to showcase your published work on your CV/Resume

Research Intern

  • Must be a student of humanitarian studies, Law, International Relations, or a relevant discipline

  • You will need to submit 2 articles per month that include selecting research topics and writing contemporary humanitarian related research and news articles ranging from 500-1500 words (each)
  • Writings must be plagiarism free (up to 10% allowed case by case basis)

This list is prepared just to help you have an idea about the articles we publish. Your article doesn’t need to be on the exact above mentioned topics. You’re free to come up with your argument, analysis, and insights beyond these topics as long as it is related to our concerned issues.

  • We publish only original and unpublished articles.
  • Our blog is visited by readers from 70+ countries every month. Hence, the article must be interesting and useful to a global readership.
  • It is not an academic journal and our readers come from different backgrounds, and might not come from a native English background. Therefore, articles must be of simple understandable language and all the features of academic articles are not required.
  • Minimum words for an article is 500, while the maximum is 3000.
  • Anything beyond the word limit must be accompanied by proper reasons on the email.
  • There cannot be more than 20 endnotes/references (if any).
  • Texts must not contain hyperlinks of any sort.
  • It must be submitted in a Word document, in Calibri or Times New Roman with font size 12, single line spacing, and left-aligned.
